Story
Chappys is the clever chip project of Harry Stephens, the former chef of Movida and Quay, now turned into a big chip. Mr Chappy, as some people like to call him, had long harboured dreams of doing something different, and while working at the Thunder Road Brewery, he began road testing what things paired best with the range of beers, finally landing on a range of handmade chips.
From there, Chappys has become a hero of the local chip world, with a range of proudly Aussie chips (with great local flavours) that go beyond the same same. Importantly, Harry uses a 'slow cook' method rather than just frying, and these chippies are all the better for it, with hand sorting and hand seasoning making these feel much more real.
As the name suggests, these chips transport you straight to the BBQ where a tomato is sitting on the open grill cooking away. Made using tomato and natural smoke, these delicous snacks really feel like a different world of potato.
