Details
From the Pewsey Vale vineyard, over 500 metres above sea level, this Pinot Noir is atypical for the region - pale, fragrant and elegant. There are enticing aromas of black cherries and strawberry, with a delicate hint of ginger and cinnamon. On the palate there's more red fruits; cherries and rhubarb. A well-balanced wine with a soft tannin structure and balanced acidity.

Origin: Burgundy, eastern France. Mainly Grown In: France, Germany, USA, NZ, Italy, Australia, Chile. Key Facts: As a wine drinker, Pinot Noir is one smooth talking charmer; silken texture, soft tannins, juicy acidity and as light in colour as it is on its feet. It does have a reputation however as challenging grape to grow - it's very picky about where it is planted and can be tricky to get right. But the toil of growing it is always worth it in the end! Nothing quite compares to the splendour of Pinot Noir — packed with flavours of strawberry, warm baking spices and elegant earthiness... more is never enough. Fun Fact: Pinot is an ancient vine, likely grown in Burgundy, France for more than 2,000 years. The name "Pinot" first appeared in print in 1375, and has dominated wine books ever since!

Pairing guide
We can’t get enough of this deliciously juicy Pinot Noir from Impressionist. Elegant and extremely gluggable, it’s a brilliant match with juicy duck breasts or duck leg stews (cassoulet, here we come!), lamb dishes, and rustic bean and lentil dishes. We love pairing it with braised beef dishes, tomato-based pasta classics, roast chicken dinners, and even fatty fish like roasted salmon. Yum!
