Details
Sangiovese is still an outlier in Australia, but the best examples really shine. This puts on a great show - pale red in glass, there's a waft of red fruit, some dried florals, lots of brown spice and a warmth to it that is very inviting. It's serious and rich, with a nice balance between succulence and power.

White Stripes is one of the projects from talented duo Nina Stocker and Callie Jemmeson, both with a raft of winemaking and growing experience under their belt, but with plenty of pizzazz and fresh ideas for delicious and drinkable wine - they are our kind of women! Nina and Callie believe that winemaking doesn't have to have barriers but what it does need is quality, focus and a destination. Their combined winemaking experience which includes Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Northern and Southern Rhone Valleys, Provence, Beaujolais, Emilia Romagna, Alsace, Barolo, Sonoma, Central Otago, Marlborough, McLaren Vale, Yarra Valley and Heathcote.….you get the idea - they LOVE travel and they LOVE their work! White Stripes is part of an ambitious dream to capture five principal ‘passions’ - wine, music, friends, family and food! It is a truly Italian approach to wine, and Callie's keen eye for detail and judiciously experimental approach has paid dividends and the proof is in the glass. These are great wines - approachable and earthy, with plenty of soul.

Pairing guide
Few wines manage to pair quite so well with all of our favourite Italian foods as Sangiovese. Bright, sunny, and deliciously juicy, this Sangiovese really is a fantastic pairing for pizza, lasagna, spag bol, and all of those other takeaway favourites we love to cook up when entertaining friends (or just ordering in if we’re feeling a bit lazy). Make no mistake, this is a wine that just loves rich and acidic tomatoes and tomato sauces, so pretty much anything that contains this delicious ingredient is sure to be a winner!
