Details
Bright red in the glass, with some pale orange in it - really entrancing to look at. The nose is alive with elegant aromas of raspberry, cool alpine strawberry and a touch of rhubarb. It's gently floral with rose petal and some fine pepper. It's no wilting daisy though, with richness behind the elegance - sumptuous texture framed by classy French oak. Hits all the right spots.

Alex Russell is an entrepreneurial winemaker who began his winemaking journey by crafting wines from Mildura and the Riverland, using a range of so-called 'alternative' grape varieties (mostly Mediterranean influenced) to create modern and approachable wines. Since then he has expanded south, to Tasmania, where he creates more classically styled wines from Pinot Noir, Riesling and Chardonnay. From Merlot to Montepulciano, the breadth is quite astounding! His style is consistent across the range, making wines that are true to their varietal heritage and showcase the best of the local climatic conditions. Modern winemaking and attention to detail show through in the suite of precise and detailed wines. Lots to love here, with fruit to the fore and a real eye for purity.

Pairing guide
This gorgeously versatile Pinot Noir from Alex Russell is the perfect wine for those moments when you’re not quite sure what to serve with your dinner. Why? Because it’s got that perfect medium body that allows it to pair up with pretty much anything, from stewed fish to beef steak, from roast poultry to rack of lamb, and from Indian curries to bean and lentil dishes… and beyond. We especially enjoy this wine with duck, especially served with cherry or plum sauce, or with wild mushrooms and eggplant dishes. However, the options for food and wine pairing success are pretty much endless!
