Details
The Upstarts GSM is from a sustainably grown single vineyard of the high altitude and cool climate wine region of Orange, NSW — you better believe this wine is youthful and fresh. It's loaded with ripe flavours of red cherry, plums and a touch of spice. Very easy drinking, smooth and a wine that'll pair to palates who equally value deliciousness and caring for our planet.
Origin: Aragon, Spain. Mainly Grown In: France, Spain, Italy, USA, Australia. Key Facts: Grenache is a life-of-the-party kind of grape — fun, fruity, and charismatic with a spicy pep to its feet and an inviting warmth of approachability. And, despite its Spanish origin and well established 19th century home in France (where it so happened to be the Pope’s wine of choice) the world's oldest continuously producing Grenache vines are actually where the life of the party always has been; Australia. Grenache is lighter in body and softer in tannin than many other red grapes which is why it is both so easy to drink on its own and why it's teamed up to make blends (like GSM) with other grapes that may need a friendlier touch to soften up them up and chill out their bold and up-tight and tannic tendencies. Fun Fact: In Spain, Grenache is called "Garnacha".

Pairing guide
We love GSM blends. They really capture the juiciness of the grapes and brings a wide array of jammy flavours to your table. It’s going to pair beautifully with roast turkey and ham, especially if they’re served with a rich sauce featuring mushrooms or peppercorns. Game is a great match for GSM, as are quality sausages and barbecue favourites like rustic beef burgers. You might also want to match this wine with dishes which make use of fully-flavoured offal like liver or kidneys, or for vegetarians, you could go for something classic like a French onion soup, forest mushrooms, or vegetables cooked in Indian spices.
