Details
Earthy, complex, structured and thought-provoking, the 2018 vintage of our favourite Aussie Tannat is packed with warm baking spices, black cherry flavours and rustic character. Savour its woodsy charm and your mind will drift into the ultimate state of cosiness.
It's not every day we get to team up with one of the coolest crews in the McLaren Vale to make something undeniably unique and elegant — but lucky for your and our taste buds, we did! Red Embers is a collaboration project we did with two of our favourite winemaking brothers, Malcolm and Richard Leask of Hither & Yon. These innovative brothers push beyond the old-school boundaries of traditional varietals, and instead, make extraordinary wines from a wide array of grapes. This is why they were the perfect guys to make this McLaren Vale Tannat — something as rare as it is delicious. With plenty of hard work and a passion for modern winemaking, Richard and Malcolm make wines that stand out in the crowd and will make you stop and think. They put flavour and fruit front and centre while upholding a sustainable approach to viticulture and vegan practices in their winemaking. We love that, and we think you will too.

Pairing guide
There’s been plenty of noise surrounding Tannat wine in recent years, and one of the main reasons for this is the fact that this wine pairs really, really well with the kinds of street food that everyone’s raving about right now. Simple, rustic, a little bit dirty... you’ll want to match this wine up with loaded hot dogs, beef or vegan burgers, lamb doner kebabs, or souvlaki, and you’ll be more than happy you did so! Those looking for something a little more refined will get great results with duck cassoulet, sausage casserole, or any kind of hearty bean stew.
