Details
This Pinot rosé from Lansdowne sings a clean and pure tune that speaks well to the slow-growing and cool conditions it came from. Savoury strawberries and cream on the nose with delicate florals and plenty of brightness. The palate is clean with feathery finesse and layers of wild strawberry, raspberry and cherry blossom flavours. Its soft gentle touch is balanced with lively acidity. An expressive rosé with real finesse from start to finish.

Though Lansdowne vineyards is home to the slowest growing vines in Adelaide Hills, it's certainly never a dull moment for the young hustling family behind it, Eliza and Tass ('Tosh')! This Young Gun duo is making some tremendously exciting small-batch minimal intervention wines that are turning heads to the Hills in hope of tasting their hard-to-get-your-hands-on wines. The vineyard is perched up 350 metres in the Forreston Valley where it experiences a Mediterranean climate, with cool wet winters and warm dry summers that linger into long stretched autumns. Stunning early sunsets over the vineyards and cool air pooled in the valley under the starry skies make for an ideal temperature fluctuation (diurnal swing) which ensures the grapes ripen slow and steady - a prerequisite for the kind of flavour complexity and elegance we see in the wines from Lansdowne. Eliza and Tosh believe in the importance of sustainability and transparency in their wine which means they take a full-love, but hands-off, approach to make sure their wines sing in the same key as their unique roots.

Pairing guide
This is a fabulous Australian rosé wine, made from 100% Pinot Noir. It's got some real finesse, and is a perfect rosé wine for sunny, outdoor drinking - think pasta salads, grilled fish and picnic baskets full of cheeses and baguettes, the softer the cheese the better. This wine is also going to go really nicely with lightly spiced dishes and fragrant Thai curries too.

Wine region
Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Adelaide Hills wine region, located in South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges of South Australia is characterised by its high altitude, cool climate, and diverse soils, which all contribute to the unique terroir that produces elegant, complex, and expressive wines. The region's altitude ranges from 400 to 700 meters above sea level, creating a cooler climate than other wine regions in South Australia. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process of the grapes, resulting in wines with high acidity, delicate aromatics, and elegant flavours. Top sub-regions are Lenswood, Piccadilly Valley, and Basket Range, each with unique microclimates and diverse soil types that produce singular wine styles, the highlights are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and a whole lot more!
