Details
We love it when winemakers are so passionate about their creation and are always on the hunt for new adventures, blending new flavours and characters together into a fun and joyful wine! This is exactly the case with this wine, taking all our favourites elements from each of these varieties and allowing them to blend in a harmonious way. Pretty, floral, freshly cut raspberry leaf and sweet red berries is what you'd get when you smell this wine. On the palate it's the Shiraz's turn to show it's power with black and white pepper spice and those rustic, meaty and punchy tannins. But don't you worry, the finish is all about elegance and back to those pretty berry notes, leaving you with a big smile on your face. Go ahead, try something new and give this one a go, it's a clever little wine and a great addition to your winter selection.

Wineries like Plan B really say a lot of the Australian wine scene in the 21st century. On the one hand, there’s a dedication to excellence and flavour, and a will to constantly push the bar higher and higher when it comes to quality. On the other, there’s a sort of rock ‘n’ roll sensibility at work, a vibrant punk spirit of homegrown talent, of following your instincts and subverting expectations… all of which results in some seriously great wine, packing plenty of surprises and eyebrow-raising features. Set up in 2006 by wine and music obsessive Bill Crappsley, Plan B was always intended to be a ‘free range’ winery; free not only from too much messing about and chemical intervention but also free from what they describe as ‘corporate taint’. This is wine that’s set for the world stage, but which hasn’t had its edges sanded down and its image compromised by profit-hunting big businesses - it’s wine which celebrates freedom, expression and its unique character taken from the stunning Western Australian terroir around Frankland River.

Pairing guide
This delicious red blend from Plan B brings together two of our all-time favourite grape varietals - Shiraz and Pinot Noir - and the combination works some real magic in the bottle. This wine is going to go really well with a massive range of meat dishes, and if you’re planning a barbecue any time soon, we’d recommend saving this wine especially for it. Grilled pork and beef, lamb chops, and rich, hearty, meaty stews like a goulash are going to be perfect, and it’s also going to happily pair with dishes which use strong, tangy cheeses like aged Cheddar, too.
