Details
Susan and Michael have had what they call a 'fervent relationship with Roussanne' since 2011 and they've really got this wine nailed now. It's a round thing this textural white, with lovely red apple and stone fruit richness that really fills your mouth with pear and stonefruit flavour.

There's a saying in the Barossa: "You have to have a grandparent in the ground before you're considered a local." Well, Susan Yelland and Michael Papps don't fit this criteria, but 20 years of experience growing grapes and producing delicious wines in the area has made them the envy of many a so-called 'local'. It must be said as well, with a delightful cellar door that offers a warm and cosy atmosphere, the locals are usually found here enjoying some Barossa smallgoods and a glass of wine on a weekend afternoon. They're passionate about running their small winery sustainably, using minimal inputs during the winemaking process to allow the fruit to speak in a clear voice, uncluttered by overzealous oak and a heavy hand. And they must be doing something right because they've been rated one of the best new wineries representing the 'New Barossa'!

Pairing guide
Rich and luxuriously textured white wine like this really commands that you pair it up with dishes that ramp up the flavour, especially with the concentrated and tangy pear and apple flavour here. We really like a dish like this with recipes that combine a creamy texture with tang, which is why Indian dishes like butter chicken, tandoori chicken and veggie korma, especially when they're not too hot (so don't go wild on the spice in the tandor). Roasted vegetables and ratoutille will pair wonderfully here too, as would spiced fish or tofu dishes (just go for recipes that dial in cream rather than too much chilli).
