Details
Juicy! That's the best way to describe this bright and delicious McLaren Vale Grenache. It's only light to medium-bodied, with a flavour that's 110% raspberry. lovely gummy raspberry red frogs and some red peppercorns, with a beauty that you can't deny. Go on, try and put it down! Greg & Kate have delivered something so bright that it feels like raspberry sunshine.
Kate Horstmann & Greg Clack are the clever heads behind XO Wine Company, treating this project as their Adelaide Hills wine passion project while they both keep up their day jobs as winemakers (Greg as head of Chain of Ponds in the Adelaide Hills and Kate most recently at Project Wine). The best part about passion projects is that you can do whatever you want! For Greg and Kate, that means focusing on not just the Adelaide Hills & McLaren Vale grapes, well-travelled like Chardonnay, Grenache and Pinot Noir, but also Gamay, Nebbiolo & a rare Cortese. Oh, and the name? XO comes from naughts and crosses, where two different letters can be rearranged in several different ways to give all sorts of outcomes. When X or O are aligned, it's a winner!

Pairing guide
Juicy, elegant and oh-so versatile, we just can’t get enough of this stylish Grenache from the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Grenache is always a great red wine to pair with hearty, homemade dishes featuring a Mediterranean twist - it’s ideal with eggplant parmigiano, stunning with ratatouille or bourguignon stews, and fabulous with meaty paella or braised chorizo. Mushroom and cheese combos, whole roast poultry with a rich gravy and all kinds of roast red meats will also doubtlessly deliver fantastic results.
