After more than a decade working in fine wine retail and the world’s best restaurants, Louis Schofield created Worlds Apart Wines in 2017 with a simple goal: to make wine thoughtfully, that is also delicious. Sourcing sustainably grown grapes from significant sites in Eden Valley, McLaren Vale and their own backyard in the Adelaide Hills, Schofield and his fiancé Hannah Jeffery are delivering on a promise to make beautiful wine that is eminently drinkable and downright delicious. Louis draws on his training under the late, great winemaker Taras Ochota, and makes wines inspired by cult Australian and European producers, famed Burgundies, and winemaker peers and friends in the Adelaide Hills and surrounds. He continues to make wine at Ochota Barrels and co-owns Hellbound, arguably Adelaide’s best underground wine bar.
