Details
A pale and clear incarnation of McLaren Vale Grenache from fifty year old vines, dry grown on sand in Blewitt Springs. Veering towards Pinot Noir with its light and elegant frame, but with more rose petal florals and redcurrant jubeyness; the wine has a pretty nose and bright fruit weight, but with serious texture and crunchy acidity. New wave Australian Grenache at its finest.

Worlds Apart Wines are artisan wines made from the best vineyards in South Australia. After more than a decade working in fine wine retail and the world’s best restaurants, Louis Schofield created Worlds Apart Wines in 2017 with a simple goal: to make wine thoughtfully, that is also delicious. Sourcing sustainably grown grapes from significant sites in Eden Valley, McLaren Vale and their own backyard in the Adelaide Hills, Schofield and his wife Hannah Jeffrey are delivering on a promise to make beautiful wine that is eminently drinkable and downright delicious. Louis draws on his training under the late, great winemaker Taras Ochota, and makes wines inspired by cult Australian and European producers, famed Burgundies, and winemaker peers and friends in the Adelaide Hills and surrounds. He and Hannah have recently built their own winery in the Hills, to ensure the future of Worlds Apart.

Pairing guide
Who doesn’t love a top bottle of Grenache? This plush and juicy red wine style is as versatile as they come, and will pair very happily with big family dinners of roast poultry, lamb, beef, or pork, as well as with takeaway favourites ranging from pizza to a tikka masala. Tomato and olive pasta, chilli con carne, French classics like cassoulet and ratatouille, and Mediterranean vegetables served with hunks of red meat or grilled chicken thighs will also hit the spot beautifully.
