Details
In the true spirit of the Share Garden, a vineyard that a local winery shared with growers keen to get their start in growing grapes, this wine should be shared with others. The Sharegarden Riesling is all sorts of fun with heady, floral aromas and an abundance of lemon and lime that you’ll think you had walked into a gin bar.

The Clare Valley is a lovely mix of families that have been around for generations with the region producing wine since the 1850s thanks to the Jesuit priests at Sevenhill. Kevin Mitchell is winemaking royalty in this neck of the woods with the MItchell name found all about the Valley. Kevin’s main winemaking job is at Kilikanoon, where he founded the winery in 1997, however winemakers are suckers for punishment and he started up his own label, Woodvale, in 2006 with his wife Kathleen. We are extremely happy at Good Pair Days to be sharing these wines with you and introducing you to the wonder that is Kevin Mitchell. It must be said that you need to be prepared to have a spare hour every time you chat to him, however the reward is worth it in the case of extremely tidy wines that will have you smiling for days. Woodvale is a nod to classic winemaking done well, which is a perfect way to sum up the Clare Valley as a whole and folk like Kevin.

Pairing guide
With its beautiful balance and lasting freshness, this gorgeous Riesling from Woodvale couldn’t be more food-friendly if it tried. While it’s a stunning match for grilled chicken dishes, pork schnitzel, crisp green salads and all kinds of fish and seafood, we reckon it really comes into its own when served alongside Thai curries, goan fish dishes and Vietnamese classics. Satay chicken, Indian vegetable korma, Pad Thai and Singapore noodles are also highly recommended here.
