Details
This is a Shiraz in name, but don't immediately jump to thinking this is big and powerful. The 'Sakura' Shiraz is more bright and blue fruited, with a gorgeous colour and aromatic nose. The wine has plenty of typical white pepper and a good chunk of oak that helps flesh this out nicely.
Windowrie is a pioneering western NSW winery that has cleverly turned their whole world around to become a fully organic and minimal intervention producer with a whole swag of clever wines in their portfolio. Still run by the forward-thinking O'Dea family, this estate has the ultimate desire to 'live in a chemical-free, sustainable environment that reflect where we are and what we believe in. While Canowindra is known as the ballooning capital of Australia, you there's more than hot air here. We like the colourful range of classy wines under the 'Sakura' range and the 'Pig in the House' range is a delightful expression of wines made under the hands-off banner.

Pairing guide
A great bottle of Shiraz is always welcome at our dining table, and we know you’re going to love this deeply flavourful bottle from Windowrie’s winery in Canowindra, NSW. It’s a perfect choice for pairing with barbecued beef steaks or lamb chops, and it will work brilliantly with racks of ribs and homemade burgers, too. Bean and lentil dishes, slow-roast lamb shoulder or braised beef, Mexican stews with brisket and other melt-in-the-mouth meats, strong cheeses and roast root vegetables like sweet potato will also provide fabulous pairing partners.
