Details
A classic and joyous bottle of bubbly with the classic sparkling aromas of bruised apple, citrus and white blossom. It’s dry, fresh, crisp and youthful on entry, with a little fruitiness mid-palate, but finishes on a tangy lift of acidity and that chalkiness that just does so well with a little tasty morsel of food!

Toorak Winery, home of Willandra Estate wines, was established by Frank Bruno (Senior) in 1965. When he first came to Australia he worked on the current winery property on Toorak Road, and over time, he purchased the farm and established the winery with his sons. The winery is still run by the Bruno family, with Robert, Frank Senior’s grandson, in charge of winemaking today, making a range of premium wines from several different regions. The winery is situated in the town of Leeton in the heart of the Riverina, approximately halfway between Melbourne and Sydney. The Riverina is the largest grape-growing region in NSW, with rich agricultural land, deep soils, a reliable warm climate and a plentiful water supply. ‘Willandra’ is the name of the family vineyard, and comes from a local indigenous language meaning ‘little river’. The name Willandra also has local historical significance, being the name of an iconic sheep property nearby, and of a national reserve in the region.

On the one hand, you can match this sparkling wine perfectly with elegant seafood and shellfish dishes - it’s a delight with fresh oysters, caviar, scallops and lobster. On the other, you can toss sophistication to the side and marry it to a massive pile of loaded fries, Korean fried chicken, fish ‘n’ chips and other deep-fried delights. It doesn’t end there, either - it’s a great wine for charcuterie, spicy snacks and starters, Pad Thai, sushi, and the list goes on and on!
