Details
This is such a great glass of wine! It's a very rich gold in glass, and slightly cloudy due to being bottled unfiltered. On the nose there's a mix of honey, banana, vanilla, cream and white peach. It might seem OTT rich, but there's a line of fresh acidity running through the wine, keeping things balanced. It finishes with a flavour of orange cream ad almond pastry - very luxurious!

An iconic vineyard for many years, the Warner Vineyard only began releasing wines under their own label in 2012. Already well known thanks to wine icons like Giaconda and Jamsheed sourcing their fruit, now the premium fruit is enjoying success under the name of its growers. The vineyard is situated approximately 6km from Beechworth on the Wangaratta Road, and is planted to varieties most commonly associated with the Rhone Valley in France - Shiraz, Marsanne and Roussanne. They thrive on the granite soils and produce complex wines filled with character. These days the wines are actually made by famed Jamsheed winemaker Gary Mills, an ex-baseball player who turned a love of wine into a career. He has used the Warner Vineyard Shiraz for years in his own wines, and now coaxes the full range into bottle. The style is slightly different to the Jamsheed style, with more emphasis on texture and weight, but the wines share the imprint of the vineyard - always a sign of quality when the terroir can shine through. We look forward to seeing more of these intriguing wines in the future.

Pairing guide
This elegant white wine style may have its home in the sunny French coastline, but it’s long since become an international hit, picking up no shortage of food pairing recommendations along the way. On the one hand, you could keep things traditional, and pair this wine with seafood and oily fish, cooked simply on a grill, or with a rustic homemade pate or a roast chicken. On the other, you could take a more internationalist outlook, and opt for what we think is the perfect pairing: a chilli-spiked Thai or southeast Asian curry, spicy tofu in broth, or even a big platter of sushi. What could be finer?

Wine region
Beechworth, Australia
Nestled in the rolling hills of Victoria, Australia, the Beechworth wine region is a hidden gem for wine lovers. With a history dating back to the 1860s, this cool climate region is known for producing top-notch Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. But don't let these wineries' small, boutique size fool you - the family-owned operations in Beechworth are serious about their craft, using traditional techniques to coax maximum flavour from the region's mineral-rich soils. Beechworth has had its ups and downs over the years; almost all of its vines were wiped out by disease in the early 1900s. The 1950s saw significant investment and the realisation of this small region's potential paved the way for some of Victoria's most prestigious wine producers. So grab a glass, let your hair down, and discover why Beechworth is the ultimate destination for wine lovers. Cheers!
