Details
A rosé that tastes like summer bottled — think freshly picked strawberries, watermelon slices by the beach, and a whisper of rose petals floating in the breeze. A mix of Tempranillo and Dolcetto, this Limestone Coast beauty is dry, crisp, and super refreshing, with just the right balance of ripe red berries and a gentle citrus zip.

Wangolina is a modern, forward-thinking winery situated between the coastal towns of Kingston & Robe in the Mt Benson region of the Limestone Coast. Whilst the property has been in family hands since the 1800s, vines were first planted in 1999 by John & Anita Goode with plantings of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon & Sauvignon Blanc. Now under the watchful eye of daughter Anita, the vineyard has also expanded to include Pinot Gris, Grüner Veltliner and northern Italian native Malvasia Istriana. In 2001 Anita harvested and made the first vintage from the Wangolina vineyard and since then has never looked back. She worked vintages in Washington and Oregon, as well as Langhorne Creek, the Hunter Valley and Tasmania, before returning home and taking the reins full time from 2013. Anita wears many hats at Wangolina; winemaker, vineyard manager and farmer to her 700 acre cattle farm. All of these roles she fulfils with passion, pride and dedication. The cool climate and coastal location of the vineyard mean that the wines are naturally fresh and built around acidity, and Anita's appreciation of the global wine scene ensures they remain balanced between fruit and freshness. A hidden gem of a producer!

Pairing guide
This crisp and juicy rosé was practically made for long lunches and picnic rugs. It’s the kind of wine that plays nicely with a wide range of flavours — salty, spicy, fresh, and even a bit creamy. Try it alongside a prosciutto and rockmelon salad with a sprinkle of mint and chilli, or go coastal with grilled prawns tossed in garlic and lemon. Feeling snacky? A mezze plate with hummus, olives, and crumbly feta would be a dreamy match. And don’t underestimate its power with spicy Asian dishes — a Thai papaya salad or some crispy pork bao buns would sing with the rosé’s fruity, zesty vibe. Bonus: it’s just as good with nothing more than a sunset and some good conversation.

Wine region
Limestone Coast, Australia
The Limestone Coast is a large wine zone in the south-east of South Australia which has six wine regions that comprise the Limestone Coast; Coonawarra, Mount Benson, Mount Gambier, Padthaway, Robe and Wrattonbully. The Limestone Coast is in a unique position with cool winds and ocean waters throughout the summer months thanks to an oceanic event called the Bonney Upwelling which helps keep the vineyards cool during the hot summer months. The Limestone Coast produces a wide range of quality wines from classic Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz in Coonawarra to cool-climate varieties like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Robe and Mount Gambier. It is truly a versatile area and one of the backbones of the Australian wine industry.
