Details
A wine of reserve and restraint due to a cooler than average growing season, the 2017 Estate Cabernet from Voyager has gentle aromas of blackberries, leaf and chocolate/ mocha with a touch of cedar oak. It’s medium-bodied and smooth with a textured mouthfeel and very well balanced with fine, integrated tannins. Will repay time in the cellar too. Absolutely charming.
For more than forty years, the Wright family has been creating delicious wines of true character at Voyager Estate. It's no doubt, with that kind of time learning their vines, these guys are making top-notch stuff. Not only are their wines deliciously elegant and refined due to the cooling sea breeze of their maritime climate in the Margaret River region — where Voyager Estate resides only 5 clicks from the ocean shore (how dreamy!) — but the Wright family also has a strong commitment to sustainability. Carbon neutral, certified sustainable, and pesticide-free; they've had a long-term commitment to making fabulous wine, and they have a long-term commitment to sustainable farming. Protecting both their land and the planet is at the forefront in all decisions made in the vineyard and winery for these guys, and we couldn't be more on board with that.
