Vinaceous 'Salome' Rosé 2023
Grape Type Pronunciation: "roe-zay"
Primary flavours
Forest Berries
Raspberry
Strawberry
Chalk
Liquorice
Turkish Delight
Details
Bright fluorescent pink in colour, the lifted bouquet is all cherry blossom, strawberry and Turkish Delight musk, which delights the palate with fruit sweetness but plenty of freshness. Tempranillo provides attractive savoury fruit aromas but with a liquorice-like flavour and palate profile. It races to a beautiful zingy crisp finish that invites another sip… and again… where did that bottle go?

It’s become almost a stereotype nowadays for winemakers to push the idea of their produce reflecting the land that it's from, but with Vinaceous, there’s really no other way to fully understand their vision. Since 2007, winemakers Michael Kerrigan and best mate Gavin Berry have been scouring the most renowned, most respected, and most deeply loved Aussie wine regions, seeking out pocket-sized vineyards that truly match their ideals. Their mission has allowed them to build close relationships with growers throughout the Great Southern and Margaret River regions of this vast and varied country, and Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale get a shout-out, too, via their characterful and sustainable releases. Kerrigan and Berry believe that great wine requires top-notch fruit, an understanding of how to process that fruit with a real lightness of touch, and a clear idea of what sort of wine the winemaker wishes to end up with. With their relaxed-yet-fascinating portfolio of seriously delicious vino, which spans so many regions yet upholds a deeply recognisable set of characteristics, drinking their wines is like going on a curated tour of the best of what Australia has to offer.

Pairing guide
When rosé is just right, there are few other wine styles which match it when it comes to truly satisfying, refreshing taste sensations. This elegant bottle from Vinaceous certainly ticks all the right boxes, and lends a splash of glamour to a massive array of meals. We love pairing this wine with soft cheeses, spicy Chinese chicken classics, and chargrilled chicken and vegetables. However, it’s also great with fresh seafood (cooked prawns, and scallops), and with oily fish such as salmon served with vibrant flavours such as chilli and ginger.
