Details
A dangerously rich, spicy, supple and dark fruited wine. This is a blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Tempranillo, and offers flavours from all three. There's plenty of
rich berry roundness, with a swathe of Tempranillo tannin and then some prettiness from typical Grenache florality - think peony and lavender. Lovely.

It’s become almost a stereotype nowadays for winemakers to push the idea of their produce reflecting the land that it's from, but with Vinaceous, there’s really no other way to fully understand their vision. Since 2007, winemakers Michael Kerrigan and best mate Gavin Berry have been scouring the most renowned, most respected, and most deeply loved Aussie wine regions, seeking out pocket-sized vineyards that truly match their ideals. Their mission has allowed them to build close relationships with growers throughout the Great Southern and Margaret River regions of this vast and varied country, and Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale get a shout out too via their characterful and sustainable releases. Kerrigan and Berry believe that great wine requires top-notch fruit, an understanding of how to process that fruit with a real lightness of touch, and a clear idea of what sort of wine the winemaker wishes to end up with. With their relaxed-yet-fascinating portfolio of seriously delicious vino, which spans so many regions yet upholds a deeply recognisable set of characteristics, drinking their wines is like going on a curated tour of the best of what Australia has to offer.

Pairing guide
Any wine that name checks Nick Cave on the label surely has plenty to say for itself… and this stunning and rather devilish blend of Shiraz, Tempranillo, and Grenache most certainly makes its presence known. It’s a great wine for pairing with big hunks of rough-hewn barbecued meat - ribs, homemade burgers, steaks and chops are all more than welcome here - and will also pair very nicely with goulash, stroganoff, bolognese, and other classics combining stewed meats with herbs and spices. Smoked seitan, black beans, and grilled capsicum and eggplant provide perfect veggie alternatives.
