Details
Like a Goldilocks wine, this Chardonnay has a vitality and energy but also a really interesting complexity. There's nashi pear, grapefruit and a touch of white melon on the nose, before diving into almond and a nutty edge. It's chalky and refined, and never goes over the edge of richness or weight. Lovely to drink!

Turon & Alex White are newlyweds who founded the Turon Wines label together. The couple were married (over a glass of wine) in the Adelaide Hills in October 2018. They are working with the vision to produce wines that showcase varieties that excel at growing in the cool climate subregions of the Adelaide Hills. They are based in Lenswood, they built a winery in 2017 and planted their own vineyard in 2020 - close planted and low yielding, it will be the cornerstone of their production in the future. Whilst Alex will honestly disclose that she has no 'official' wine education, she has worked each vintage for the label with Turon and she has learnt to truly appreciate a clean winery and good vintage dinner of a hot chicken and coleslaw! Turon is the driving force here, and after having worked for various wineries during and after university, Turon identified that the Adelaide Hills was where he ultimately wanted to lay his winemaking hat. He has over 10 years winemaking experience in the Adelaide Hills, and now turns his considerable energy towards producing a range of energetic and exciting wines under his own label.

Pairing guide
There’s a real sense of carefully handled richness vs delicacy here, which is why we loved this Chardonnay with rich seafood dishes - it’s an absolute dream with mussels, clams, lobster, and crab. It’s also superb with pork chops served in a creamy sauce, smoked salmon creations, dinner party classics like chicken kiev, and with tempting avocado dishes, too.

Wine region
Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Adelaide Hills wine region, located in South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges of South Australia is characterised by its high altitude, cool climate, and diverse soils, which all contribute to the unique terroir that produces elegant, complex, and expressive wines. The region's altitude ranges from 400 to 700 meters above sea level, creating a cooler climate than other wine regions in South Australia. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process of the grapes, resulting in wines with high acidity, delicate aromatics, and elegant flavours. Top sub-regions are Lenswood, Piccadilly Valley, and Basket Range, each with unique microclimates and diverse soil types that produce singular wine styles, the highlights are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and a whole lot more!
