Details
Packed with flavour, this combines the succulence and freshness of Sauvignon Blanc with the richer fruit character and roundness of Viognier. A great mix, this is both refreshing and powerful.

'Tordos' is the Spanish name for the Shiny Cowbird, an iridescent blue variety of sparrow-like bird that calls most of South America its home. One of the most common birds in Argentina, the 'tordos' is a speedy, brightly-coloured bird that is a pleasure to watch in flight. Pleasure is certainly the name of the game for Francisco “Paco” Puga, chief winemaker at Tordos. He loves wines that over-deliver in terms of flavour, texture and sheer satisfaction. He crafts thrilling wines from vineyards in the north of Argentina - a region called Salta. Here, the majority of their fruit comes from the Calchaqui Valley, a region with plenty of sunlight and very cool nights. With vineyards at over 1500m above sea level, the alpine breezes do a great job of cooling the vines and also providing safety from diseases. By capturing the spirit of these high vineyards and utilising modern winemaking tech, whilst staying true to the pioneering spirit of South American vignerons, Francisco and his team regularly usurp more expensive wines in blind tastings, simply by delivering incredible wines year in, year out. The wines of Tordos are flying high. Packed with flavour, this combines the succulence and freshness of Sauvignon Blanc with the richer fruit character and roundness of Viognier. A great mix, this is both refreshing and powerful.
