Details
Created in the the champagne method, based on Pinot Noir blended with Chardonnay and local Jura varieties. This wine spends over a year having a rest on its lees which adds a layer of nut and biscuit complexity. It’s drier in style with notes of honey, ripe apple and white flowers. Fully sparkling, balanced and thirst quenching, with a mineral-inflected finish.

Just east of a small region called Burgundy in France is a smaller region called Jura. Here the soils and climate are very similar but it’s still a sort of hidden secret that is slowly being discovered by more and more wine lovers. The area of Jura is very similar to Burgundy in many ways including the grapes grown. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are also grown here but local grapes such as Savagnin, Trousseau and Poulsard are also grown. Along with table wines the region produces the local Macvin and the famous yellow wines or ‘Vin Jaune’. Along with these styles the region is highly regarded for it sparkling wines. In 2000 two families Michel Tissot and Henri Maire decided to collaborate to create special bottling from their shared region of Jura. With a focus on create the best sparkling wines in the regions they solely produce several bottlings which range in styles. In recent times the success of these wines has seen the property acquired by the Boisset Family in Burgundy.

Pairing guide
This stunning Jura Cremant is an absolute dream of a sparkling wine, and like most Cremant, it’s going to be extremely versatile and flexible when it comes to seeking out dishes and ingredients to pair it with. Traditionally, this kind of quality bubbly is going to be served with warm oyster dishes, but it’s just as happy with any dish containing clams, mussels, or squid. It’s also gorgeous with cheese sauces, so feel free to get creative with your pasta or chicken dishes, and it works nicely as a wine to serve at dessert alongside creme brulee, strawberry tarts, and black forest gateau.

Wine region
Jura, France
The Jura wine region is located in eastern France, near the mountains on the border with Switzerland. It is known for its unique and distinctive wine styles, including the nutty and oxidative 'Vin Jaune' and the crisp and refreshing whites made from local variety Savagnin as well as Chardonnay. The soils are built on limestone, contributing to the freshness and acidity in the wines, and as a result, the wines age very well. Home to a multitude of local varieties, the Jura region is a must-visit destination for wine lovers and offers a taste of France that is truly one-of-a-kind.
