Details
Ripe and ready, The Butler is a sure-fire hit for anybody who likes their red wines with a bit of chew, and lashings of ripe, slightly stewed berry fruit. Made from organically tended vines, this Tempranillo is round, easy-drinking and delicious

Origin: Spain. Mainly Grown In: Spain, Portugal, Argentina. Key Facts: You love the bold and the beautiful; the kind of beauty that is confident, self-assured, secure and doesn’t need to spend extra time in the mirror for a self-guided pep talk in order to look mega hot on the dance floor. Meet Tempranillo, a Spanish grape with a confident backbone of tannin balanced with sweeter red fruits like cherries and strawberries and with an alluring kick of spice. Tempranillo is praised both in its youth as well as being able to age. In fact, in Rioja, they have an entire grading system based on the time it spends ageing in oak. The more time in oak, the more expensive, and the more you will notice flavours becoming more leathery and savoury. It is important to remember, however, that more time in oak does not necessarily mean it is better quality. Fun Fact: Tempranillo is the red grape used in the famous wines of Rioja.

Pairing guide
If you’re anything like us, you just can’t get enough Tempranillo wines in your life. This beautiful and boldly flavourful bottle from The Butler knows how to hit the high notes when it comes to big taste sensations, and it calls out for food pairings which don’t shy from making an impact. We loved it with chicken and smoked paprika casserole, but it’s equally good with homemade chicken or beef fajitas, Spanish rice dishes (especially a classic Valencian paella mixta), braised chorizo, mushroom stroganoff or Hungarian goulash. Yum!
