Details
The new vintage of this wine is real winner - taking all the ancient vines and soils of Greenock have to offer. Modern in thinking - ie letting the fruit shine, without artifice. But with an old soul - a vibrant, gently fruity and expressive Grenache, with red cherry, raspberry liquorice and earthy notes. Sweet fruited but balanced, soft and layered. No oak used in this wine, just fruit and soil.

The Beehouse is the sister vineyard to Alkina, a new force in the Barossa Valley. Utilising similar biodynamic vineyard practices and gentle, focussed winemaking techniques, the wines spearhead a winemaking methodology in one of Australia’s most respected regions that is transforming the way we understand 'naturally made wine', and resulting in truly fascinating vintages. Over sixty years after its initial planting, the vines have reached bonafide heritage status, packing in mountains of expression which only a fool would mess with. That, and a deep passion for understanding, nurturing, and coexisting with the beautiful landscape, is the essence of the Beehouse philosophy. The organic and biodynamic methods aren’t an exercise in bandwagon jumping; they’re a way to explore the ancient stones and soils of the vineyards, and to capture everything that makes this corner of the valley so very special.

Pairing guide
The Beehouse might just be one of our newest obsessions when it comes to red wine, and this bottle of Grenache is a damn-near perfect example as to why. Food pairing-wise, you’ll want to save this bottle from a traditional sunday lunch of roast poultry, pork, or lamb with all your favourite sides, or for your next curry night - Grenache works so well with a chicken or paneer tikka masala! It’s a great pairing for cassoulet, ratatouille, slow-cooked lamb and loads of other rustic French favourites, and you’ll also love this wine with fricassee or braised pork.
