Details
Cabernet Sauvignon and Nero d'Avola is not exactly your usual red blend. But damn this lush and black wine brings the power. Full-bodied and packed full of liquoricey, earthy black fruit, makes this grainy, drying and chunky red a real charmer.

Teto = Tenille & Tom. For years, the couple have said, “We should make wine together,” and in 2024, it all came to a head. The name started off as a bit of a joke, joining the first two letters of each of their names together. But now, with the bottles out and the wines to show, it feels right. As the couple describe it, these are wines from Mudgee that are 'approachable, fun, unpretentious and always up for a good time'. Tom has a day job as a winemaker at Pieter van Gent wines in Mudgee, making typically more classical styles (and a dazzling array of fortified and full-bodied reds). With the Teto wines, he's off on a more modern and fresh tangent, using alternative varieties with minimal intervention. We're super proud to have some of Tom & Tenille's first-ever releases at Good Pair Days!

Pairing guide
An unconventional wine that doesn't need unconventional food. You just need to amp up the flavours to match! Smoky, meaty, rich and powerful dishes are your go-to here, as you want to match the black wine with big flavours. Grilled meat, smoky eggplant, and just about any skewer cooked over an open flame that packs some smoky elements is going to be a winner here (and don't neglect smoky dips to match).

Wine region
Mudgee, Australia
Hey there, fellow wine enthusiasts! Have you heard of the Mudgee wine region in New South Wales, Australia? If not, you're missing out on some seriously delicious drops! Picture this: vineyards perched high up at 450 meters, soaking up the Aussie sunshine and enjoying cooler temperatures. That means the grapes get a little extra time to ripen and develop flavors that'll knock your socks off. And boy, do they ever! Mudgee is famous for its full-bodied red wines, like Shiraz, Cab Sav, and Merlot, which pack a punch and leave you wanting more. But don't overlook their refreshing whites, like Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, which are perfect for sipping on a sunny day.
