Details
Falanghina might not roll off the tongue as quickly as other varieties, but we are sure that Aussies will find a way to shorten it to something easier like Fazza soon enough. The wine, luckily, rolls across the tongue a lot easier with rock melon, kiwi fruit and pineapple notes that hit the button perfectly. This all continues seamlessly on the palate with a touch of citrus opening up and mineral punch, along with this scintillating mid palate push of texture.

Tenuta Viglione is located in the heart of Puglia in southern Italy, where the beaches are stunning and the sun equally ideal. Puglia is home to varieties that have found a natural home in Australia, like Fiano and Primitivo. However, behind this, there are a host of other varieties that will become household names in a handful of years, like Verdeca and Nero Di Troia. This is where we introduce Tenuta Viglione, where the Zullo family has been operating since 1937. The Zullo family have cultivated the perfect place that combines wine with a little bit of luxury in the form of the resort on-site. Aside from laying by a pool in the sun with a glass of local fermented grape juice in one hand and a plate of antipasto in the other, the brand hosts various labels representing classic Puglian varieties. The “Circles” label is where we found the true sweet spot, and we are pleased to offer our GPD customer base a delightful package of wines for those who wish they were in southern Italy right now.

Pairing guide
If you’re not yet acquainted with the joys of Falanghina wines, we’re sure this beautifully refreshing bottle from Tenuta Viglione is going to make you a diehard convert. It’s a stunning wine to pair with lighter dishes, and will match especially well with simple seared shellfish recipes, seafood stews or rice creations, and delicate white fish with a lemon and parsley crust. Green vegetable specialities will also work very well - broccoli and lemon pasta, for example, or asparagus spears with prosciutto or salty cheese.

Wine region
Puglia, Italy
Puglia is a wine region in the "heel" of Italy that is known for its red, white, and rosé wines. The full-bodied red wines are often made with Negroamaro and Primitivo grapes, while the whites are usually made with Verdeca and Fiano grapes. Puglia has a hot, sunny climate which helps the grapes ripen fully and gives the wines a rich flavour. The region is also home to some unique grape varieties, like Nero di Troia and Bombino Nero. So, if you're a fan of Italian wine, definitely give Puglia a try! Historically Puglia has been better known for its quantity of wine over its quality. But thanks to a number of quality-focused producers, the region is turning that narrative around.
