Details
The Tiers Vineyard was the first vineyard planted in the Adelaide Hills, with this 2021 vintage from 42-year old vines. Elegance, energy and power in the glass; terroir-driven grapefruit peel and ripe stone fruit aromas, a certain stony minerality, with cashew and spiced oak in the background. Finishes with steely acidity and length that leaves you entranced.

Tapanappa was created in 2002 by Brian and Ann Croser in partnership with Bollinger of Champagne and the Cazes family of Lynch Bages in Pauillac. Today Tapanappa is wholly owned and run by the Croser family of the Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills, where it began more than forty years ago as Petaluma. Brian Croser has been an innovator in the Australian wine industry for more than forty years, and today Tapanappa has evolved into a complete family fine wine company from vineyard to market. It is managed by Brian’s daughter Lucy and husband Xavier Bizot, while another Croser son-in-law, Sam Barlow, looks after the winery. The word Tapanappa is derived from the local aboriginal language, implying ‘sticking to the path’. This is exactly the philosophy Brian has employed in selecting his distinguished sites, matching the climate, soil and geology of a location to the right varieties, and fastidiously managing the vineyard to make unique Australian terroir-driven wines.

Pairing guide
Luxurious, opulent, and utterly delicious, this superb Chardonnay is guaranteed to delight the senses. It's especially well-suited to chicken dishes combining cream, tarragon, olives or truffle, and will also bring extra dimensions of pleasure to a roast poultry dinner, salmon creations ranging from gravadlax to buttery pastries and salmon en croûte, and silky buttery pasta dishes, too. Avocado salads, crisp fresh greens, and tenderloin of pork will also be fantastic, and it's delicious with a coconut-based curry. Divine!

Wine region
Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Adelaide Hills wine region, located in South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges of South Australia is characterised by its high altitude, cool climate, and diverse soils, which all contribute to the unique terroir that produces elegant, complex, and expressive wines. The region's altitude ranges from 400 to 700 meters above sea level, creating a cooler climate than other wine regions in South Australia. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process of the grapes, resulting in wines with high acidity, delicate aromatics, and elegant flavours. Top sub-regions are Lenswood, Piccadilly Valley, and Basket Range, each with unique microclimates and diverse soil types that produce singular wine styles, the highlights are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and a whole lot more!
