Details
The Limited Release Shiraz from Stonehaven is highlighting the depth of quality that comes out of Padthaway. This Shiraz has delightful elements of blueberries and blackberries that are soaked up by glorious oak that gives the wine plenty of structure. Behind the oak and berry interplay there is an iodine drive, creamy vanilla spice and plenty of pepper.

The Stonehaven winery is a bit like an adopted dog who finally finds a home with a loving family after years of neglect. The winery was established by Hardy’s in the 1990s to help highlight the growing importance of the Limestone Coast until Constellation, who owned Hardy’s, made wholesale change across their wineries and sold it off to lay dormant. Enter CW Wines, the family who wandered into the pound and purchased the winery and gave it a new life. Today, the winery is growing the reputation of the Limestone Coast by producing several tiers of wines that highlight the importance of the region. There are three major labels with the Stepping Stone and Limited Release labels making up the core components. These labels are sourced from the main regions of the Limestone Coast like Wrattonbully, Padthaway and Robe as well as the world renowned Coonawarra. It’s a good thing this delightful winery has found a home and is maturing along nicely.

Is there any more welcome a sight at a festive dining table than an open bottle of Shiraz? We think not! This characterful release from Stonehaven ticks all the right boxes, providing plenty of body and a deliciously deep flavour profile, perfect for pairing with barbecued ribs, homemade burgers, smoky chops and blackened chicken thighs, as well as with rustic side dishes like brown rice pilaf, refried beans or a puy lentil salad. Wine region
Robe, Australia
Robe is a sub-region of the larger Limestone Coast wine region of South Australia and is known for producing high-quality wines. The region has a Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and mild winters, which makes it ideal for growing grapes. The landscape is characterized by rolling hills, beautiful beaches, and charming towns. The region is best known for its crisp and refreshing white wines that pair particularly well with a bounty of fresh local seafood. But it's also gained a reputation for its bold and flavorful red wines. Some of the grape varieties commonly grown in the Robe wine region include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Shiraz.
