Details
This is an easygoing Chardonnay that reinforces the truth that not every version of this grape needs to be rich and creamy. This is light and textural, with just a whiff of dairy to it. Mostly smells like jasmine and grapefruit sorbet, pear and lemon. Soft acidity and a gentle finish - perfect for Sunday afternoons.
Origin: Burgundy, in eastern France. Mainly Grown In: France, USA, Australia, Italy, Chile, South Africa, Argentina, Spain, NZ… all over, really! Key Facts: Chardonnay is one flexible, sassy grape. It grew up in a place called Burgundy in France, and has travelled to California, Australia, other parts of France, South America... all over the world basically. It can be zesty and fresh in cooler climates, and richer and creamier in warmer ones. It's also one of the few white varieties that performs just as well when treated with oak as it does without. This winemaking change can also affect the body and texture of the wine, leading to a totally different drinking experience. So remember, not all Chardonnays are alike, but we've picked only the best ones for you :) Fun Fact: Chardonnay is a small commune in France, which was formerly known as Cardonnacum — possibly derived from the Latin carduus, or "thistle". So "Chardonnay" actually translates to the "place of thistles".

Pairing guide
You’ve got to love this bright and fresh Chardonnay, which really captures the finer features of this classic grape varietal. It’s going to be absolutely banging when served alongside delicious brunch dishes of smoked salmon and avocado, and will work beautifully with shellfish pasta, creamy chicken and leek pies, lobster and crab creations, and with Italian favourites like cacio e pepe and carbonara.

Wine region

South Australia, Australia
South Australia is a wide and varied state when it comes to wine production. From the coastal regions of Limestone Coast and McLaren Vale, to the warmer inland valleys of Barossa and Eden, to the flats of Langhorne Creek, there's a range of terroirs and temperatures across this wide brown land. As a result, wines labelled with only South Australia can display a range of flavours! The state is probably best known for Shiraz, Grenache and Cab Sav in reds, and Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay in white. Whatever your flavour, there's plenty to explore!
