Details
Made from Australian wheat that is first crafted into a wheat beer that is brewed and then triple distilled before finishing off with Illawarra Escarpment-sourced rainwater (which is where the name comes from), this smooth and quite soft vodka has a subtle generosity that offsets the heat.
The South Coast Distillery story really started over a mutual love for martinis. Luke Harding & Oskar Schwab were housemates who really enjoyed gin and started a weekly 'Martini Thursday' tradition where they would explore the gins of the world. Not willing to settle for just drinking gin, they started tinkering with distilling until, in 2018, they had their first commercial release with ‘Batch Zero’ Sublime Gin. Batch Zero hit the ground running, winning Champion Australian Small Batch Spirit at the San Francisco Spirits Awards, and boom the boys were off. South Coast Distillery proudly celebrates the NSW South Coast across their range of spirits and drinks, including vodka made using local rainwater, a native Illawarra Plum 'Sloe-Style' Gin and Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur crafted from Wollongong-roasted coffee beans. These are spirits crammed with character and regional flavours.

Pairing guide
A good vodka is a wonderful spirit to enjoy at the end of a long day, and this crystal-clear distillate provides a bracing blast of freshness we just can’t get enough of. If you’re keen to seek pairing perfections for this one, reach for the freshest raw seafood you can get your hands on. Freshly shucked oysters with a horseradish, wasabi or green apple dressing would be ideal, as would a scallop crudo or seafood ceviche. Want to keep things traditional? Any kind of pickled vegetable and rye bread combo would be fantastic with this vodka, as would blinis with caviar, smoked salmon sandwiches and vegetarian sushi rolls.

Where NSW is used on the label it refers to wines coming from across the state but not from any region exceeding 85% of make up of the wine.
