Details
The Schild Estate team have put together a lovely sparkling Chardonnay with plenty of citrus zip and super zesty palate. This is your vibrant start to an evening party, and like an entrance song at a wedding, it needs to have the right amount of pop. You don’t have to worry about any lack of pop with this wine, it will be doing somersaults down the dance floor!

The Barossa has an ingrained history of German migrants who travelled out to Australia in the 1800s and chose South Australia as their home. Thanks to this, there are a great deal of wineries with links to this initial migration that helped regions like the Barossa get their start in the wine game. Schild Estate is one of those wineries, with the original family members moving to South Australia in 1866 and then moving to the Barossa in 1952. Today the family have sold the winery, however luckily the name lives on. Schild Estate developed a reputation for their iconic Moorooroo Shiraz, which wasn’t named after a cow and two kangaroos but is the Shiraz vineyard which was planted by Ann Jacob in 1847 and is one of the oldest Shiraz vineyards in the world. Aside from their famous Shiraz, the winery makes a host of other wines including Chardonnay, which unlike Shiraz, you don’t see too often in the Barossa, yet enables them to make some cracking sparkling wine from as far afield as the Adelaide Hills.

Pairing guide
A stunning example of Adelaide Hills class and distinction, this remarkable sparkling wine is sure to be a firm favourite with wine lovers and foodies alike. When it comes to food pairing, we just adore this flavourful fizz alongside charcuterie, tapas and antipasti dishes - classics like braised chorizo, black olives and anchovies, ham and cheese croquetas and slow-cooked butter beans in a rich tomato sauce. It’s very good with barbecued chicken thighs and pork sausages, wonderful with steak milanese and other fried and breaded treats, and will also work very well with duck breast salads and Asian beef specialties, too.

Wine region
Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Adelaide Hills wine region, located in South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges of South Australia is characterised by its high altitude, cool climate, and diverse soils, which all contribute to the unique terroir that produces elegant, complex, and expressive wines. The region's altitude ranges from 400 to 700 meters above sea level, creating a cooler climate than other wine regions in South Australia. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process of the grapes, resulting in wines with high acidity, delicate aromatics, and elegant flavours. Top sub-regions are Lenswood, Piccadilly Valley, and Basket Range, each with unique microclimates and diverse soil types that produce singular wine styles, the highlights are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and a whole lot more!
