Details
A classic, crisp drop from the King Valley in the north-east of Victoria. This sparkling wine takes the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the region, picks it early, and delivers a classy fizz that is full of fruit and fun. Look for green apple, grapefruit and lemon flavours, backed by a soft pillowy texture.
The King Valley is known for its history of emergence from tobacco farms and mass, bland vineyards of generic varietals and shifted into an explosion of exciting Italian varietals, including its champion variety, Prosecco. At the forefront of this is Sam Miranda, a man whose family has ties to the region for almost a hundred years as well as being responsible for many teenagers' first drink with the launch of Passion Pop. Passion Pop and definitely no sign of underage drinking aside, Sam Miranda has evolved from his family’s past of fruity elixir to an exciting range of alternative varietals that is showing no boundaries. From progressive Gruner Veltliner and Verduzzo to classically Italian Sangiovese and Nebbiolo with the obviously necessary Prosecco. Thankfully Sam decided not to ride the cash cow that was Passion Pop and is making sophisticated wines for those sophisticated teenagers.
