Details
This plush, succulent blend of Shiraz and Grenache is an alluring purple in the glass and the aromatics are just as enticing! Plum, mulberry and pomegranate intertwine with a lick of chocolate and a hint of black pepper. The tannins kick in at just the right time to add some definition to this medium-bodied delight. Great drinking.

It's not every day we get to team up with an award-winning pioneer of South Australian wines to make something undeniably unique and elegant, but luckily for your taste buds and ours, we did! This Red Embers wine is a collaboration between Good Pair Days and Jason Schwarz from his eponymous winery in the Barossa Valley. Jason Schwarz was doomed to be a winemaker from his childhood. Ensconced in the vineyards of South Australia, in particular Bethany in the Barossa Valley, his parents had provided the suitable environment from the very beginning. After finishing his winemaking degree, he set off to see the world and completed vintages in France, the USA and Argentina, before returning home and starting his own label in 2001. Starting off with only a two barrels of Barossa Shiraz in the first year, he followed this with a similar amount of Grenache the next. The Grenache is still made every year and is a fixture in his offerings. Which is why we're so excited to showcase this special offering!

Pairing guide
You really can’t beat a good Shiraz blend when sharing richly flavourful homemade food with friends, and this bottle from Red Embers is one that truly ticks all the right boxes. Perfect with barbecued and chargrilled red meats, chicken thighs, racks of ribs and root vegetables, it’s also excellent with vegetarian dishes of black beans, green lentils and other hearty pulses. Chilli con carne, Hungarian goulash, paprikash stew and French favourites like boeuf bourguignon will be excellent, and it’s also a top option for steak night or for comfort food favourites like burritos, too.
