Details
Sauvignon Blanc blends with Fernão Pires and Muscat here in this aromatic white blend where you can feel each component of the wine. We have some grassy character, with peachy stone fruit, lychee and coconut. This is lean, with tartness and a lovely lime cordial acidity. Perfumed, restrained and elegant.
Quinta do Casal Branco is a brand new addition for us here at Good Pair Days and an impressive producer discovered back in 2023 during a trip out to Portugal in search of vinous gold. Impressed by the wines from the Tejo region - a true up-and-coming part of the country - this is the land of the Fernão Pires and Castelão grapes, both of which are indigenous to the region. The Tejo is a remarkable terroir, with vineyards formed largely from old riverbeds made up of sandy-stony soils. The team at Quinta do Casal Branco are a traditional one for sure. The 18th-century estate is stunning, with around 128 hectares under vine, cultivating a host of grape varieties with the aforementioned, plus Syrah leading the way. We are delighted to have finally landed these wines, they are certainly not to be missed!

Pairing guide
You really can’t beat a good Sauvignon Blanc blend when dinner time rolls around, and this refreshing and beautifully balanced white wine from Quinta do Casal ticks all the right boxes as far as we’re concerned. It’s a top-notch wine for pairing with dishes that make a star ingredient of soft green herbs like parsley, basil, coriander and lovage, and will also work very well with green vegetable dishes featuring asparagus, green beans and peas. Fish gratin, seared seafood, garlicky prawns and white meats with rice or couscous would also provide superb pairings to try.
