Details
There is Precious Little wrong with this gloriously intense Barossa Shiraz! Sourced from the famous red soils of Marananga in the western end of the Barossa Valley, this bold and mouthfilling big red crams in so much flavour per millilitre that it feels like the bottle could burst open any time. Don't be scared, though - the extra time maturing in bottle means that while this lush Shiraz is bold, it's also super silky smooth.
Precious Little is a collaboration between two wine industry stalwarts, Victorian Marty O'Flaherty and South Australian Adam Smith. Theirs is a story of hard graft and passion, the result of which are these wines! Marty began his working career as a chef before being inspired by cooking icon and bon vivant Stefano di Pieri, whose wine-filled cantina and restaurant in Mildura is known across Australia! Soon, Marty packed away his knives, ceremoniously torched his chef whites, and embarked on his quest. Working in Victoria, South Australia, and Italy cemented his passion, and he currently makes wines at McLaren winery Fox Gordon while packing as much time into Precious Little as he can. Adam grew up in the Clare Valley, amongst the vines. Despite swearing that he would never end up in the wine industry, life has a funny way of getting to you. Working across South Australia for some larger wine brands, he recently established a viticultural consultation business of his own and focuses on Precious Little. His aim is to find the best (little) parcels of grapes and then transform them into amazing wines without any pretentiousness.

Pairing guide
With this much flavour density, the Precious Little Barossa Shiraz really commands that you up the flavours in your dish. Slow-roasted meats, hearty stews, umami-laden mushrooms, and anything with a hearty vibe are going to come into their own here. That caramel and chocolatey sweetness from the oak adds another layer of sweetness that will also work with curries, smoky roasted vegetables and spiced goulash. A hot tip when pairing this delicious Shiraz is to make sure it's not served too warm - anything over about 20C and you'll be best popping this red into the fridge for a little while to rein in some of the richness. You won't be disappointed!
