Details
The ‘Elegance’ Chardonnay from Complices is a bright Chardonnay for those that like pure, elegant Chardy. With a pop of acidity, a string of apple and lemon drive with subtle hints of nectarine and trademark minerality, this is a delight to drink.

The Loire Valley is a grand region that traverses central France where you will find the perfect mix of history, gastronomic delights and a nice smattering of castles. The region expands from the coastal city of Nantes where you could consume one of the best pairings in the world, oysters with muscadet, to the historically important city of Orléans, and by historic, we are talking Joan of Arc levels! François- Xavier Barc and Gérald Vallée started Complices de Loire in 2010, after both having a strong background of winemaking in the Loire Valley. The winery sources fruit from across the Loire and produces a range of classic wines from Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc to Cabernet Franc and Gamay. The winery has two different vineyards, after acquiring Domaine à Deux in 2015, which has helped grow the range of wines. There is a beauty to the range, with modern wine labels and well constructed wines that showcase the versatility of the Loire Valley.

Pairing guide
This cool climate Chardonnay is a sensational food pairing wine, bursting with the kind of flavour and body that makes it hugely versatile and exciting to match up with tasty dishes. It’s a real winner with white meats - ranging from grilled chicken salads to creamy veal, pork chops, and turkey curries - and will also pair very well with rich shellfish, cream and cheese sauces, egg pasta creations, and the decadent richness of avocado. Gnocchi in sage butter is always a winner with a Chardonnay, as is meaty fish like halibut, swordfish, and barramundi.
