Details
This plush Pinot Noir has a a wonderful mix of aromas and flavours, at first delivering raspberry and cranberry, then backing it up with dried flowers, vanilla, wet leaves and a touch of mint. It's crunchy and fresh, with very fine tannin.

Origin: Burgundy, eastern France. Mainly Grown In: France, Germany, USA, NZ, Italy, Australia, Chile. Key Facts: As a wine drinker, Pinot Noir is one smooth talking charmer; silken texture, soft tannins, juicy acidity and as light in colour as it is on its feet. It does have a reputation however as challenging grape to grow - it's very picky about where it is planted and can be tricky to get right. But the toil of growing it is always worth it in the end! Nothing quite compares to the splendour of Pinot Noir — packed with flavours of strawberry, warm baking spices and elegant earthiness... more is never enough. Fun Fact: Pinot is an ancient vine, likely grown in Burgundy, France for more than 2,000 years.

Pairing guide
Purity really is the name of the game with this delightfully silky red wine. As for food pairing, they really don’t come much more versatile; this delicious vino is going to match perfectly with a rare steak and chips, leg of lamb or lamb stews, offal dishes, and juicy duck breasts. However, it’s also a winner with rich meaty or vegetable stews and braises, festive celebration dinners of roast poultry, and even with heartier fish dishes of roast salmon or seared tuna. Eggplants, beans, lentils, and zucchini will also match very nicely, and it’s also gorgeous with beetroot burgers and wild mushrooms. Wow!

Wine region
Murray Darling, Australia
The Murray Darling wine region is one of the three that is the backbone of the Australian wine industry, alongside the Riverland and Riverina. The Murray Darling is situated along the Victorian and NSW border with Mildura being the centre. Whether it is grapes or oranges and other fruit, this is the place to find them. It's a hot and dry area with long, hot summers and cool winters, making it the perfect spot for growing grapes. Aside from the commercial wineries that source a large amount of fruit from this region, there is also a growing scene of alternative varietals thanks to wineries like Chalmers.
