Details
You can feel the freshness in this super pure Pinot Grigio. Imagine fresh falling snow and mountain streams - that sort of thing - and you're in the right direction. A whiff of fresh white flowers - Gardenia maybe? Or Acacia? This tastes light and airy, with a tangy pear edge and plenty of acidity. Oh yes, this is crisp!
The story of Perlage harks back to 1985, when the seven Nardi brothers, encouraged by their father Tiziano and mother Afra, decided to embark on a journey in converting to organic agriculture. Now that's really reaching back into the ye olde history of organic grapegrowing! Still, it has meant that Perlage is now one of the absolute pioneers in sustainable viticulture, especially because they're one of a select few not using synthetic chemicals in the whole of Prosecco. Indeed, the original Perlage vineyard lies in the Riva Moretta vineyard in the heart of the Prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG (aka Prosecco ground zero). While bubbles are obviously the big hit for Perlage, and they have a whole smorgasbord of fizz, the range doesn't stop at sparkling, with a selection of snappy, seriously fresh white wines too.

Pairing guide
With its high acidity and classically Italian chalky pear flavours, this refreshing Pinot Grigio is such a thirst quencher that will pair with anything. That freshness makes it a great contrast to salty fried food (and great with chips) but also wonderful with salad, including things like caesar that have a richness and creamy edge. Cooked seafood also works wonderfully here (grilled crayfish or yabbie would work a treat with that purity) as would a classic Thai noodle dish like pad Thai or pad see ew.
