Details
It must be said that we at GPD have played a few rounds of poker and when you see two off-suite jacks in your hand the sunnies go down and you enter a nice game of check, bet, raise. The third jack shows up on the turn and in this case, the Sauvignon Blanc shows guava and pine-lime notes that start to get the heart pumping. The fourth jack pokes its head out on the river with a vibrant pluck, a nice edge of herbs and lemongrass. All in, no questions asked!
Origin: Likely France, but unconfirmed. Possibly a wild grape variety that was indigenous to multiple areas in slightly different forms. Mainly Grown In: France, New Zealand, Italy, Chile, USA, South Africa and Australia Key Facts: If you’re a fan of a lime twist in your drinks, the smell of fresh-cut grass in the morning, and have been told you are intense or that "you sure stand out in a crowd", well, you’ve met your match. Sauvignon Blanc is an all-dials-at-max kind of grape, which means it's going to fist pump your senses with its intense (and sometimes pungent) aromas, mouth-watering freshness and a cleansing herbaceous character. As one of the most planted white grapes in the world, it’s no wonder it has claimed hearts in various styles; It can be lean and zesty when it’s from cooler climates and fuller and more tropical when grown in warmer ones. Fun Fact: Did you Know that Sauvignon Blanc is the third most planted white grape in the world? It has over 275,000 acres planted world wide.

Pairing guide
With its amazing versatility, clean and crisp flavours and irresistible brightness, it’s no surprise this beautiful Sauvignon Blanc is a stunning wine for pairing with food. It’s going to be great with all your favourite white fish and shellfish dishes, will work a treat with chicken salads and roast poultry, and really hits the high notes with dishes that make the most of green vegetables and soft herbs like parsley. Tofu, spicy rice creations, Singapore noodles and fiery Thai broths will be great, and it’s also excellent with all your favourite soft fresh cheeses.
