Details
Don't be fooled by the deep pink hue, the Spanish still prefer a bit of colour in their rosé. This is a Grenache, Tempranillo blend and is definitely more on the gastronomic side of rosé, with dark berries, plenty of spice and flavour. This is your winter time rosé, or if you like a bit more oompf in your wine.

Bodegas Riojanas is one of Rioja’s great heritage wineries, proudly crafting wines that capture the soul of this iconic Spanish region. Founded in 1890 in the historic town of Cenicero, the estate has spent more than a century perfecting the art of Rioja winemaking—balancing tradition, patience, and a deep respect for place. While the company has roots in Rioja, it has expanded to include estates in Rueda, Rias Baixas, Ribera de Duero and Toro, as well as dipping its toes in the waters of Bierzo, Cava and the wonderful world of Vermouth. There is a lovely mix of tradition and creativity in the wines, with Rioja showcasing the traditional side and Toro showcasing the playful nature of the various brands. We are excited to bring our customers these wines to showcase not just classical Tempranillo, but also forgotten Verdejo and Spanish rosé that really packs a punch.

Pairing guide
Fresh, vibrant, and full of red berry charm, Peñamonte Rosé offers notes of strawberry, raspberry, and citrus zest with a crisp, dry finish. It’s a perfect match for tapas-style dishes like patatas bravas, grilled prawns, or jamón and manchego. It also shines with summer salads, salmon, or Mediterranean mezze plates with hummus and olives. For something casual, pair it with fish tacos, pizza, or a simple watermelon and feta salad. Serve well chilled for an easy, sunshine-ready pour.
