Details
No bruiser this - instead, Shiraz in a tailored suit. It opens with a waft of black pepper and violets, followed by layers of juicy blackberry, black cherry, and a subtle flick of smoked herbs. It's medium-bodied with fine tannins, bright acidity, and a mineral edge that lingers long after the last sip. There’s elegance here, but also confidence — like a jazz solo that knows when to hold back and when to go bold.
Based in South Australia’s famed Coonawarra region, Parker Estate has long been synonymous with precision, elegance, and the kind of reds that make collectors swoon. Established in 1985, Parker has built its reputation on producing age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon, but in recent years, they’ve been turning heads with a fresh approach to other varietals — like this Cool Climate Shiraz. Situated on the region’s prized 'terra rossa' (red clay) soils and cooled by southern ocean breezes, the vineyards offer ideal conditions for crafting reds that are vibrant, structured, and unmistakably refined. The winery’s philosophy is rooted in a mix of tradition and innovation — combining meticulous vineyard management with a light touch in the winery to let fruit and terroir shine. For Parker, it’s not about power — it’s about poise. And this Shiraz? It’s the perfect example of just that.

Pairing guide
This Shiraz plays beautifully with food — think grilled lamb with rosemary, pepper-crusted venison, or a mushroom and lentil pie for a veggie spin. The wine’s spice and savoury undertones love smoky flavours, so throw some aubergine on the BBQ or try it with a chargrilled steak sandwich. Even something as simple as crispy roast potatoes with garlic and herbs will bring out its earthy charm. It's a wine made for cool nights, hearty plates, and long, satisfying dinners.

Wine region

Coonawarra, Australia
Coonawarra is in the southeastern corner of South Australia, located in the Limestone Coast of South Australia, about 300 km southeast of Adelaide. The region experiences a maritime influence due to the upwelling of cold ocean currents. The main varieties grown in the region are Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, and Chardonnay. Here you can find the legendary terra rossa soil, with its thin iron-oxide-based topsoil over limestone, giving it that unmistakable reddish hue. This soil type is believed to be a major contributing factor to the robust character of the wines.
The Coonawarra wine region stretches about 15 km, with more than 50 wineries. Penfolds, Wynns, Balnaves, Rymil and Katnook Estate are among the most notable and historic in the region. Each of them produces highly sought Cabernet Sauvignon that is medium to full-bodied, with brood notes of cassis, blackberry, plum and dark cherry flavours. Structured with firm but plush tannins, the very best of them cellar gracefully for decades.
