Details
Rosé with real personality this - depth and character in one hugely drinkable bottle! This spicy Syrah-based rosé really takes the style to new heights... this is not just for picnics! Although we have to admit, it would make for a fun summer sipper, this is also right at home in the dinner table, with plenty of pink grapefruit, dried peach and cinnamon, backed up by whip-sharp acidity.

So excited for this one! Some of the Good Pair Days team spent a week in South Africa a few years back, finding exceptional wines to bring back to Australia, but the most exciting discovery was finding an Australian making wine in Stellenbosch with his South African wife. Their wines, under the Craven label, are unique expressions of special vineyards in South Africa, and these wines are so so great. Mick and Jeanine met in 2007 while both 'dragging hose' in Sonoma, California, for the harvest season. After uni, they decided to hit the road, see lots of things, work in lots of places and try and learn as much as possible from this massive wine world. Harvests in different regions in different countries eventually led them back to Stellenbosch, South Africa in 2011. Pairing guide
When it comes to rosé wines, the Stellenbosch region of South Africa is about as reliable as they come. Made from gorgeously ripe Syrah grapes, this bold rosé is the perfect choice for pairing with pork or lamb chops grilled on the barbie, and will work very nicely with duck breast dishes, chicken livers, pork sausages, and charcuterie. It’s also a top pairing for tomato-based pasta sauces, anything featuring loads of Mediterranean herbs, and for vegetable or chicken risottos, too.

Wine region
Stellenbosch, South Africa
Stellenbosch is one of South Africa’s premier wine regions, located in the Western Cape, outside Cape Town. In South Africa, wine regions are known as winelands. Stellenbosch means ‘town of oaks’ and its winemaking dates back to the 17th century. The mountainous terrain, good rainfall, deep well-drained soils and diversity of terroirs make this a sought-after viticultural area. The wineland itself is known for high quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay as well as the local speciality, Pinotage.
