Details
The Norfolk Rise rosé will transport you from any cold, dark and wintery place to the ocean in one sip. This is rosé for beach cricket with a classic catch or two with zesty lemon and strawberries and cream in buckets and those buckets you call hands will make sure that the glass is always topped up.
Norfolk Rise is located in the stunning region of Mount Benson, which is part of the group of regions that make up the abundant Limestone Coast. The name is fitting because here you will find plenty of limestone and lots of coast to go surfing, fishing or just laying on the sand with a glass of wine in hand. The winery itself has been a staple figure to the landscape since 1999 and recently, the new owners have taken Norfolk Rise to the next level. The winery has a sustainable focus at the heart of what they do with the use of local sheep for grazing in their vineyards as well as reducing their reliance on herbicides and pesticides. There are two key ranges, the Estate and Maritime ranges which both feature all your classic varieties for sitting on the beach with Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc all ticked off and for when you move indoors when the sun goes down there are some classic red wines that will help keep the good times rolling.

Pairing guide
Fresh, zesty and bursting with strawberry flavours, this beautiful rosé is a great addition to any lunch date or barbecue, and is a stunning option to enjoy at a picnic or al fresco dinner. Pasta salads and tomato-based pasta sauces, seafood risotto and cold cuts of roast chicken or pork will be excellent here, and it’s also delicious with salads featuring red berries, apples or pomegranate, too. Chinese barbecue, grilled prawns or other seafood, pork sausages and spicy chicken tikka are also great options, and it’s brilliant with banh mi or southeast Asian salads, too.

The region received the effects of the Bonney Upwelling which is a current that cools the water off the coast of Mount Benson, somewhat reducing the effects of global warming in the region. There are some high quality wineries like Norfolk Rise and Cape Jaffa highlight the region's best varieties.
