Details
Alex and the crew have gone full noise with this powerful Bendigo Shiraz. Crafted from a biodynamic vineyard in Bendigo, it's a spicy, layered red of real delight. Baking spices, soccer ball ham, cool chocolaty liquorice edges and a palate that sits on the edge between medium to full bodied flavour and then long tannins. Classy, and delicious Victorian Shiraz. Spicy and full of ham and baking spices, it's cool and lightly chocolatey with this veneer of mint and chocolafe powder and spice. It's fascinating, medium to full bodied, a dense compact inky savoury black and blue fruit character and long tannins. Syrah alll the way
Meet Alex and Cam. Two wine-loving mates who one day found a big old concrete wine fermenter under Cam's house. True story. Alex was pretty busy at the time as Lethbridge Estate's assistant winemaker, but with access to great fruit, they bought half a tonne of grapes, grabbed some mates and stomped on them. What was a messy, lo-fi, fun experiment proved a success. The wine was delicious, and 'Noisy Ritual' was born. Nowadays, you'll find what is likely to be the first 'Urban Winery' in Melbourne, located in Brunswick East. Yep, they stomp on the grapes in the hip suburb and welcome anyone keen to get involved. If you want to sit it out and sip on a wine at the bar, you can do that too. We love this no-fuss 'underground' approach. 'Noisy Ritual' shows the range and diversity of Victoria through their awesome, delicious wines that are not limited or tied to a single location. Good people, great wine, delicious food and awesome music - it seems that's all it takes to create wine in the big smoke!

Pairing guide
Noisy Ritual have really knocked it out of the park with their characterful Shiraz, crafting a rich and deeply-flavourful red wine truly worth shouting about. This is a brilliant bottle for a Christmas barbecue - it’s pitch-perfect served alongside hunks of red meat cooked over coals, as well as Chinese ribs, homemade burgers, charred vegetables like sweet potato and capsicum, and all the classic BBQ sides. Slow-cooked meat and veggie stews, vegetarian chilli and lasagna are also excellent options to try, and it’s not half bad with a sirloin steak with plenty of garlic, either.

Wine region

Bendigo, Australia
Bendigo is a wine region located in central Victoria which surrounds the city of Bendigo itself. The region used to encompass a lot of the central Victorian wine regions but they went their own way in the 1990s. Bendigo has a great history of producing classic Australian red wines like Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon yet is evolving with a change of plantings to more alternative varieties like Fiano and Nero D’Avola.
