Details
Rustico is a nod to the old way of making Prosecco and the way Primo Franco's ancestors made wine. But this Nino Franco fizz is anything but old school. Made from vineyards in the protected Prosecco Superiore region (where, you guessed it, the superior Prosecco comes from), it's lively, with green apple snappy fruit, a whiff of fresh acacia flowers and then taut and appley, life-affirming palate.
Nino Franco is one of the Prosecco originals. With a history that dates back to 1919, this proudly family-run winery is proper Prosecco establishment. Indeed, Primo Franco was among the very first producers from the Conegliano Valdobbiadene 'home of Prosecco' region to export to the world back in the 1980s when great sparkling wine meant Champagne or nothing. Flash forward a generation, and with Primo's daughter Silva stepping in to help run the business, this storied Italian estate is producing absolutely classic Prosecco wines from the rolling hills around Valdobbiadene, where vineyards perched on ridiculously steep slopes produce beautifully crisp and fresh sparkling wines with real minerality and vitality.

Pairing guide
A good bottle of Prosecco is always a delight, and this stunningly-crafted Italian sparkling wine is a gorgeous addition to any dinner party, elegant picnic or antipasti spread. It’s going to pair well with sophisticated starters and light bites - think stuffed zucchini flowers, arancini balls and aged cheeses with charcuterie. It’s also excellent with sweet-and-salty combos like prosciutto-wrapped pears or figs stuffed with cheese, and will work well with tempura fish and seafood, too.
