Details
Very easy to like this wine - straightforward Pinot Noir fruit, with a gentle, light texture. A lifted nose that is both fruity and floral, with a faint cherry bubblegum aroma. There's lots of bright red plum, strawberry confectionary and cherry. Very light on tannin; soft, easy finish.

Origin: Burgundy, eastern France. Mainly Grown In: France, Germany, USA, NZ, Italy, Australia, Chile. Key Facts: As a wine drinker, Pinot Noir is one smooth talking charmer; silken texture, soft tannins, juicy acidity and as light in colour as it is on its feet. It does have a reputation however as challenging grape to grow - it's very picky about where it is planted and can be tricky to get right. But the toil of growing it is always worth it in the end! Nothing quite compares to the splendour of Pinot Noir — packed with flavours of strawberry, warm baking spices and elegant earthiness... more is never enough. Fun Fact: During the Middle Ages, only nobility and the church in northeast France were allowed to grow some form of Pinot in the favoured vineyard plots - so consider yourself a little bit fancy!

Pairing guide
Everyone loves a good Aussie Pinot Noir, and this gorgeous example from Nericon is a tried and tested favourite when it comes to food pairing. Pinot Noir is renowned as being one of the most versatile red wines when it comes to matching up with dishes and ingredients, and this one is no different. However, for truly mouth-watering results, drink it alongside a hearty lamb dish, or anything which uses duck as a main ingredient - for some reason, these two meats marry up with Pinot more or less perfectly. It’s also going to be heavenly with rustic pork dishes, as well as those which use the savoury earthiness of beetroot as a principal flavour.
