Details
The beauty of the single vineyard range from Mulline is getting to see the various aspects of each site and the result in the form of delicious wine. The Portalington Pinot Noir is sourced from a vineyard very close to the coast as well as being exposed to a lot more rain results in a savoury, red fruited style. Treated with some lovely, lightly toasted oak this equals a light and delicate style of Pinot Noir.

Mulline is the joint venture of Ben Mullen, professional winemaker and Ben Hine, professional wine drinker. B1 or Ben Mulline was born and bred in the Barossa Valley and cut his teeth into working at amazing wineries in the Barossa and Yarra Valleys as well as France and New Zealand. After working at Clyde Park in Geelong, Ben decided to make his own wines, also from Geelong, with his first wines released in 2019. B2 or Ben Hine is also a South Australian and spent his formative years working at Adelaide institution, Chianti. He moved to Melbourne and became a lawyer and also runs the business side of things at Mulline...tough life! The wines have colourful, artistic labels and focus on premium Geelong fruit featuring single vineyard Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah as well as crisp Riesling and textural Sauvignon Blanc. There is a lot of love and passion behind these wines and the way they are made which is something we can all get behind.

Pairing guide
Mulline winery is well-loved for the production of character and expressive Pinot Noir, and this release from their Portarlington vineyards is truly no exception. It’s a great wine to pair with all kinds of savoury casseroles and stews, and will work especially well with roast duck legs served with olives, red capsicum and thick tomato sauce and beans, as well as with lamb chop dishes and roast leg of lamb. Steak dinners, meat pies, lentil hotpots and mushroom recipes will also hit the spot perfectly.
