Details
An intense golden yellow colour, this is a very flashy Chardonnay. Beautiful aromas, of white flowers, summer honey, citrus and a core of ripe stone fruit. Vanilla is there on the nose from the oak, that continues on the powerful and flavour filled palate. Full bodied, round in weight, with roasted nuts and just enough buttery character to balance the zesty, grapefruit - like acidity. Wow.

Mount Mary is one of the first wineries established in the Yarra Valley, way back in the early seventies, by Dr. John Middleton. In those days, the region had few wine producers, and in 1976 following their first vintage, Mount Mary quickly established itself as one of the most highly regarded and sought after producers. This is particularly the case for their 'Quintet' - the quintessential Bordeaux inspired blend that quietly champions the vineyard. A wine like Quintet has a mythical like status, mostly for its age worthiness, and has a legacy that will undoubtedly continue to live on, as long as production remains this tiny. Dr John’s fastidious respect for the landscape throughout the decades has seen Mount Mary continue to take great steps forward while staying true to the original vision. Nowadays, the business is under son David's guidance, with grandson Sam Middleton's winemaking prowess. The wines are better than ever, and consistently offer the utmost quality from one spectacularly unique vineyard. The magic of Mount Mary, is truly unlike any other.

Pairing guide
Endlessly luxurious and deliciously opulent, this top-notch Chardonnay from Mount Mary provides no shortage of remarkable taste sensations. When it comes to food pairing, this wine deserves being matched with the most sumptuous ingredients; meaty hunks of lobster tail, creamy white crabmeat, or the fattiest, juiciest prawns you can get your hands on. Rich dishes of chicken breast served in cream and mushroom sauces will work well, and it’s also a great wine for serving with buttery savoury pastries, veal stroganoff, and avocado salads.
