Details
A blend of Shiraz from McLaren Vale and Grenache and Mourvèdre from the Riverland. Young and so juicy. A bright blend of raspberry, pomegranate, ripe strawberry and some candy. Serve slightly chilled if you like, for a real fruit explosion. Not a light wine - the tannin builds on finish - but fruity and really enjoyable.

Origin: Southern Rhône, France. Mainly Grown In: Southern France, South Australia, west coast USA. Key Facts: Grenache has a curious way of making a great team captain when it comes to blends. Who can resist the confident red fruity flavours and spice it brings to the game! Though it’s most recognised for its contribution in the GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) blend, it’s no surprise that us adventurous Aussie’s decided to play with the classic mix and have some real fun. The final wine is a balance of the best parts of all three, which usually means a round medium-bodied mouthful of juicy flavours, violet and lingering savoury spices. Fun Fact: A Pope (Clemens V in case you're the curious type) loved this blend so much that the most iconic GSM making region is called Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which means the 'Pope's New Castle'. You better believe there was a lot of GSM flowing here.

Pairing guide
When it comes to food pairing wines which really work with those big family-get-together dishes (we’re talking Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, or roast beef, duck, or ham on a Sunday afternoon), GSM really does do the trick very nicely indeed. This wine just loves roasted meats with rich sauces, but that’s not the be-all-and-end-all of this versatile vino. You’ll also find it works very nicely with mushrooms, peppercorn sauces, and even tuna and salmon served with rich and glossy sauces, too.

Wine region
Riverland, Australia
Located in the heart of South Australia, the Riverland wine region is a tropical paradise for wine lovers. The region was formerly known for its traditional wines, particularly Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Grenache as well as its abundance of sunshine and beautiful scenery. In the last few years it's added a raft of Mediterranean varieties to its charm - think Fiano and Nero d'Avola. The warm climate and fertile soils of the Riverland make it a perfect place for grape growing, and the wines produced there are bursting with flavour. So why not explore the wines of the Riverland and discover a new favourite?
